CASIT is faculty, staff, and GE computer support

CASIT is a group of IT professionals dedicated to providing excellent technical support and customer service to the College of Arts and Sciences.

CASIT Desktop Services launched in the summer of 2009 with the goal of providing a reliable, friendly, and readily available service for CAS faculty, staff and graduate employees.

Here is a summary of the provided services:

Software

  • Operating Systems (All Windows and macOS versions that are vendor supported)
  • Email Client Support
  • McAfee VirusScan support and malware removal
  • Microsoft Office software updates and troubleshooting
  • Web browser support
  • UO-specific application support
  • Backup solutions

Hardware

  • Installation of upgrades and other basic parts
  • Liaison support for the Duck Store Repair Shop
  • Liaison support for computer manufacturers

Printers

  • Driver installation and firmware upgrades

Other

  • Network connectivity issues
  • Training events
