CASIT is faculty, staff, and GTF computer support

CASIT is a group of IT professionals dedicated to providing excellent technical support and customer service to the College of Arts and Sciences.

The CASIT desktop group launched in summer of 2009 with the goal of providing a reliable, friendly and readily available service for CAS faculty, staff and graduate teaching fellows.

Here is a summary of provided services:

SOFTWARE

  • Operating Systems (All Microsoft Windows and OS X versions that are vendor supported)
  • Email Client Support (Outlook, Entourage, Apple Mail, Thunderbird)
  • McAfee VirusScan support and malware removal
  • Group purchasing and site license discounts
  • Microsoft Office software updates and troubleshooting
  • Web browser support (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer)
  • UO-specific application support (Banner, Student Data Warehouse, CASweb, Blackboard)
  • Backup solutions

HARDWARE

  • Installation of upgrades and other basic parts
  • Liaison support for UO Electronics Shop repairs
  • Relocation service to new offices
  • Liaison support for computer manufacturers

PRINTERS

  • Printer setup and configuration
  • Driver installation and firmware upgrades

OTHER

  • Network connectivity issues
  • Training and lunchtime events
