Windows 7 – End of Support

Windows 7 entered the end of life on Tuesday, January 14, and will receive no further features or security updates from Microsoft. As a result, Windows 7 is no longer be supported in our environment. Existing installations will need to be upgraded ASAP to mitigate the security risk.

CASIT is prepared to upgrade Windows 7 where it can be or work to remove Windows 7 clients from the network where it might be running on older instruments that cannot be upgraded at this time.

In the coming weeks, CASIT will begin reaching out to Windows 7 users identified on the network to schedule migrations. This work will take precedence over regular service requests, due to the security implications. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
